Choppin Broccoli

By mr.kyle

I know that a lot of people have revelations after reading religious texts or self help books, but this article about why broccoli tastes so incredibly awful has brought order and clarity to my life. In short, recent studies have demonstrated that there is in fact a genetic component involved in the way that individuals perceive the god awful taste of vegetables like broccoli. If you happen to get two copies of the gene, one from each parent, then broccoli will in fact taste much more gruesome to you than someone who has one or no copies of the gene.

“The upshot of all this is that the complaints of children (and, indeed, of many adults) that green vegetables are horrid contains a lot of truth.”

So there you go mom and dad, broccoli really sucks and it’s your genes that made it that way. As soon as they find the genes for hating stew and Nancy Grace my life will make perfect sense.
